Globe Flooding of 092625Red Cross opened two shelters in response to the Sept. 26, 2025, torrential monsoon rain that triggered catastrophic flash flooding in Globe, Arizona, killing at least three people in the small town, forcing rooftop rescues, scattering ~1,000 propane tanks from a downtown distributor, and prompting state-of-emergency declarations as crews searched for the missing and opened shelters; parts of U.S. 60 were closed during the response.
Los Donantes Blood DriveThe American Red Cross hosted a special blood drive at its Phoenix headquarters in celebration of Los Donantes (The Donors), an Arizona initiative aimed at boosting blood donations from the Hispanic community during Hispanic Heritage Month, from September 10 to October 10.The morning opened with festive decorations, mariachi music, handmade espresso drinks, breakfast treats, and remarks from several guest speakers. Visitors were able to make a blood donation by appointment or walk-in.
